This was an amazing experience. Although it was for my grandmothers funeral, Don was so professional and explained the process and meaning of the Doves and their release, very well. I know my grandmother was so happy with this gesture. From myself and my family, thank you so much again.

Let me first start by saying I enjoyed the releasing. Don was very patient with us. He also was very informative. He let us know all about the doves and how he care for them. He even allowed my daughter to touch the dove and she was amazed. Let’s not forget how it was a last minute decision to have a release and he still arrived. DOVE RELEASES FOR MEMORIAL SERVICEMr. Don Kane, of Ceremonial Doves of Tidewater, attended the Newport News Police and Fire Department’s 9/11 Ceremony on September 11, 2019. The releasing of his amazing doves was remarkable and well received by all attending. It brought tears to the eyes of many, including myself and was a fitting tribute to all those that lost their lives so many years ago. Thank you Mr. Kane for making the day extra special. On August 24th, 2019, my family held a casual memorial service on the one year anniversary of my brother’s death. We were happy to have everybody together, but we wanted something a little more meaningful to help this day feel more like a celebration of his life. When I reached out to Don to see if he could bring six doves to be released from my brother’s great grandparents’ house (it is hard for them to get out of the house) he was more than happy to help. He was so respectful of our needs, our time, how crazy and silly my family can be, and only wanted to help make the day as meaningful as he could. And, he did. His words were beautiful, he offered to sing, and setting the doves free really helped to memorialize my brother’s life in a lovely way. So thankful for Don and his kindness in our time of grief!
